3 Greenberg Traurig Attorneys Named 2022 BTI Client Service All-Stars

NEW YORK – Feb. 8, 2022 – Three attorneys from global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP have been named 2022 BTI Client Service All-Stars by the BTI Consulting Group. Attorneys are included, according to BTI, after it conducts research involving in-depth interviews with hundreds of general counsel to identify attorneys who provide exceptional client service.

Included on the list this year are José Raz Guzmán, co-chair of the firm’s Latin America Practice and managing shareholder of the Mexico City office; Gregory E. Ostfeld, vice chair of the firm’s Pharmaceutical, Medical Device & Health Care Litigation Practice and co-chair of the Chicago office’s Litigation Practice; and Jena M. Valdetero, co-chair of the firm’s U.S. Data, Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice, also in Chicago. Ostfeld has been on the BTI All-Stars list for two years and as such is further designated as an “MVP.”

According to BTI, client comments about the Greenberg Traurig attorneys selected included:

  • “… good at collaborating and very pragmatic"
  • “… excellent attorney"
  • "… tremendously smart"
  • "… easy to work with"
  • "… takes the time to understand our company and our specific risk"
  • "… has a great reputation"

The consulting group said that “top legal decision makers single out the attorneys delivering the absolute best client service — better than all others. These attorneys are the BTI Client Service All-Stars 2022. The results are based on more than 350 in-depth, independent interviews with top legal decision makers at the world’s most demanding clients.” Additionally, there is only one way to become a BTI Client Service All-Star: for corporate counsel to single out an attorney for client service – with no prompts or suggestions.

Raz Guzmán focuses his practice on financial and mergers and acquisitions transactions. He works with issuers, underwriters, and investors in public and private offerings of sophisticated investment vehicles including equity, debt, structured instruments, FIBRAs, CKDs, SPACs, green bonds, and securitizations.

For more than two decades, Ostfeld has focused on providing outstanding representation and exceptional service to clients in regulated industries, with a focus on pharmaceutical and medical device companies, the financial services sector, and the consumer products sector. He focuses his litigation and appellate practice on class actions, products liability, and other high-stakes litigation, combining innovative strategies with a deep understanding and appreciation of his clients’ business goals and objectives to deliver superior outcomes. Ostfeld’s litigation practice is nationwide; he has handled individual, multi-district, and consolidated cases at the trial court level in dozens of states and has led appeals in nearly every federal appellate court and approximately two dozen state appellate courts.

Valdetero advises clients on complex data privacy and security issues. She has led more than 1,000 data breach investigations. A litigator by background, she defends companies against privacy and data breach litigation, with an emphasis on class action lawsuits. She advises a diverse array of clients on compliance with existing and emerging privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the Gramm Leach Bliley Act (GLBA), and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Valdetero is a certified privacy professional through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (CIPP/US), for which she is a former KnowledgeNet co-chair.
