Greenberg Traurig’s Chicago Office Announces Groundbreaking Move to Fulton Market District

Firm’s Chicago office set to move to 360 N. Green Street in 2025

CHICAGO – July 24, 2023 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Chicago office recently announced plans to move to a state-of-the-art, brand-new, mixed-use development in Chicago’s Fulton Market neighborhood in 2025. The firm will occupy office space at 360 N. Green Street, a building currently under construction that boasts top-notch amenities in a burgeoning business, recreational, and residential neighborhood.

“We thought long and hard about where we wanted to make our next home,” said Rita M. Powers, co-managing shareholder of the Chicago office and co-chair of the firm’s Real Estate Litigation Practice. “We have been at 77 West Wacker for more than 20 years. The Fulton Market neighborhood and the office building itself reflect the innovative, entrepreneurial culture of Greenberg Traurig. We were ready for a change that fosters fresh collaboration and a sense of community.”

Fulton Market is a fast-growing neighborhood that has already become home to corporate headquarters for a number of major, global companies. It also continues to foster small, local businesses that have had a presence in the community for years, as well as residential space and a nationally renowned restaurant scene.

The building at 360 N. Green is a 24-story mixed-use development owned by real estate development firm Sterling Bay. The 500,000-square-foot building features modern office spaces, ground-floor retail, and full-service amenities such as a mid-tier deck with green space and sweeping views of the Chicago skyline. Greenberg Traurig plans to occupy about 90,000 square feet of space.

“With Greenberg Traurig’s lease, the building is already 70% leased, and it isn’t even open yet,” said Andy Gloor, CEO of Sterling Bay. “This speaks to the quality of the building and the appeal that this neighborhood has for major companies and organizations looking to refresh their office space and adapt to the evolving nature of working in the city. This is a beautiful building in a vibrant neighborhood.”

“We were intentional about finding a location that aligns with the values of our organization,” said Michael Fishman, vice chairman of Greenberg Traurig’s Chicago Office. “With return to office and talent retention remaining top priorities for the firm, 360 N. Green is a dynamic development that will provide an environment for our lawyers, professional staff, and clients to thrive. We were thrilled to partner with Sterling Bay, with whom we have worked for many years, on this new office space in Chicago.”

In addition to planning for bright, functional offices and a versatile conference center, Greenberg Traurig will leverage the plentiful outdoor space, including terraces on each floor, as well as common areas designed for both impromptu and formal gatherings.

Greenberg Traurig plans to move into the new office space in the second quarter of 2025. In the meantime, the firm will work on designing and customizing its occupied floors to maximize the utility and unique characteristics of the space.

“We are excited to move somewhere that will allow us to collaborate in a modern space while continuing to offer first-class service to our clients,” said Powers. “The culture of the Chicago office has always been of utmost importance to us. This move allows us to preserve what makes us special while also continuing to grow and evolve in the city we call home.”

Bob Chodos, Steve Levitas, and Julie Grauer of Newmark represented Greenberg Traurig in the transaction, while Jessica Brown and Russell Cora represented Sterling Bay.
