Litigation:

  • A consumer electronics company in patent infringement suits concerning its e-commerce pay platform.
  • A consumer electronics company in patent infringement suits concerning ambient light correction for displays and a multi-load time sharing driver for backlight displays.
  • Hyundai Mobis, a car parts company, in product liability suits in Georgia and Louisiana courts concerning alleged defect in airbag products.
  • KT Engcore against ASI Computer Technologies in California state court for breach of contract and obtained a $32 million complete jury verdict after a five-week trial.
  • Optrontec, an optical filter company, in an ITC investigation brought by Viavi Solutions concerning 3D optical filters and sensors systems used in cellphones, tablets and other mobile devices.

International Arbitration:

  • Korean construction companies in an ICC arbitration seated in Singapore relating to a multi-million USD commercial payment dispute concerning a refinery project in the Middle East.
  • Korean government-controlled public utilities company in an international arbitration dispute against a foreign government.

Capital Markets:

  • HSBC in a Reg. S offering of $130 million 0.774% notes due 2024 by Korea Land & Housing Corporation under its $5 billion Global Medium Term Note Program.
  • Big Hit Entertainment (currently, HYBE) in connection with its US$827 million initial public offering on the Korea Exchange – the largest IPO in Korea in 2020.
  • Citigroup and Morgan Stanley as underwriters in connection with the US$793 million initial public offering of SK Biopharmaceuticals on the Korea Exchange.
  • LG Display in connection with its offering of US$687.8 million 1.50% convertible bonds.
  • Citigroup as underwriter in connection with the US$345 million initial public offering of Hanwha Systems on the Korea Exchange.
  • KEB Hana Bank in connection with the establishment of its US$5 billion global covered bond program and inaugural offering of EUR500 million 0.010% social covered bonds.
  • Hanwha Energy USA, d/b/a 174 Power Global, as issuer, and The Korea Development Bank,as guarantor, in connection with an offering of US$300 million 2.375% green bonds.

Mergers & Acquisitions:

  • Momentive Performance Materials in its acquisition of the silicones business from KCC Corporation.
  • Hanwha Systems in its strategic investment in Kymeta Corporation, a developer of satellite communication systems.
  • Hanwha Systems in its acquisition of the businesses and assets of Phasor Solutions Limited, a developer of satellite communications antenna system.
  • SJL PartnersKCC Corporation,and Wonik Holdings in connection with their US$3.1 billion acquisition of MPM Holdings (Momentive), a leading global specialty chemicals and materials company.
