Greenberg Traurig Advises Orange Lake Resorts and Wilson Family on Sale of a Significant Minority Investment


ORLANDO, FL – April 12, 2019 –The multi-office timeshare group from global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP represented Orange Lake Resorts—home to the Holiday Inn Club Vacations® brand—and members of the Wilson family in connection with a significant minority investment in Orange Lake Resorts by an affiliate of KSL Capital Partners, LLC. Established by Holiday Inn® founder Kemmons Wilson, Orange Lake Resorts operates 28 resort properties and 7,600 villas in the United States.

The Greenberg Traurig timeshare group was led by Shareholders Jim Mace (Las Vegas and Orlando), Todd A. Miller (Orlando and Tampa) and Andrew R. Finkelstein (Orlando and Tampa), with support from Shareholders Steve Mastbaum (New York), Jason C. McDonald (Orlando), Brian H. Blaney (Phoenix), Ed Chansky (Las Vegas), Christopher R. Miltenberger (Las Vegas), Christopher J. Neumann (Denver), Stephen M. Pepper (New York), and Thomas Woolsey (Dallas); Of Counsel Richard M. Caron (Orlando); and Associates Bruce T. Lower (Orlando), and James R. Martin (New York).

This transaction marks the first time the Wilson family has taken on an outside equity partner for privately held Orange Lake Resorts. KSL Capital Partners, LLC is a private equity firm that specializes in travel and leisure enterprises in hospitality, recreation, clubs, real estate and travel services.
