AUSTIN, Texas – Jan. 20, 2022 – Sergio Cavazos, the former chief of staff to Texas state Rep. Eddie Lucio III, has joined global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Austin office as an assistant director in the Texas Government Law & Policy Practice.
Before serving as chief of staff, Cavazos was committee director for the Texas House Committee on Insurance, where he developed a deep understanding of insurance and health care policy. As chief of staff to Rep. Lucio, Sergio continued his focus on health care and insurance and also broadened his scope to include major state policy matters such as appropriations, public education, and energy and electricity legislation.
“The knowledge of major policy issues and the legislative process that Sergio brings to Greenberg Traurig will be a substantial asset to firm clients and our close knit legal and public policy team,” said Demetrius G. “Greenberg Traurig is a highly respected law firm in the legislative and executive branches of Texas government.
