Greenberg Traurig Again Earns a ‘Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality’ Designation; Top Score on HRC CEI

NEW YORK — Jan. 27, 2022  Global law firm, Greenberg Traurig, LLP, for the sixth year, received a perfect score of 100% on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s (HRC) Corporate Equality Index (CEI) and the designation as one of the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality. The CEI is the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality.

The CEI rates employers on how well they provide crucial protections to over 20 million U.S. workers and an additional 18 million abroad. The criteria used to determine a company’s score fall under these four areas:

  • Non-discrimination policies across business entities
  • Equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families
  • Supporting an inclusive culture
  • Corporate social responsibility

“Greenberg Traurig was built on inclusion and for more than five decades, we have maintained our commitment to authenticity, diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are immensely proud of maintaining our 100% score on the CEI and of being named one of the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality, not only in the United States, but also in Mexico,” Greenberg Traurig Chief Executive Officer Brian L. Duffy said. “We live our diversity; it is part of who we are as a firm, and we look forward to further growing our initiatives that help strengthen protections for the LGBTQ+ community.”

Greenberg Traurig has received a score of 100% on the CEI five additional times since 2011. The firm’s Mexico City office achieved a score of 100% on HRC’s Equidad MX: Global Workplace Equality Program 2021 and 2022 surveys.

“When the Human Rights Campaign Foundation created the Corporate Equality Index 20 years ago, we dreamed that LGBTQ+ workers—from the factory floor to corporate headquarters, in big cities and small towns—could have access to the policies and benefits needed to thrive and live life authentically,” HRC Senior Vice President of Programs, Research and Training Jay Brown said.
