Greenberg Traurig Welcomes Cosmetics Mogul Anastasia Soare as Women’s Business Forum Keynote Speaker

DENVER – April 23, 2022 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP welcomed beauty industry “Brow Queen” Anastasia Soare, founder and CEO of luxury salon and cosmetics brand Anastasia Beverly Hills, as keynote speaker at the firm’s Women’s Business Forum in Denver April 22.

In a keynote fireside chat with Greenberg Traurig Shareholder Amy L. Kramer, Soare discussed her business and leadership philosophies before an audience of women business leaders and attorneys. According to Soare, a close involvement with product quality control and a hands-on approach generates client loyalty. “I am a businessperson first,” Soare said. “I want a customer who stays with us for life.”

Soare’s keynote talk was a highlight of the firm’s 13th Women’s Business Forum, which returned after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic. The Greenberg Traurig’s Women’s Initiative launched the forum in 2007 to foster relationships between professional women, providing them an opportunity to share ideas, develop new skills, and meet mentors and business contacts.

Committed to ensuring her loyal clients maintained their shapely eyebrows during the pandemic, Soare held virtual master classes and brow tutorials over Zoom. “People were looking at their own faces a lot more,” Soare said. In response, Anastasia Beverly Hills launched The Brow App, which teaches people how to shape their own eyebrows.

Soare’s entrepreneurial drive has been integral to her business success. When originally released, her niche, brow-centric products filled a void in the beauty industry, as the eyebrow essentially was a nonexistent category in cosmetics. She credits her company’s progress to her mostly female clientele, who generously shared business advice and supported her fledgling salon as it expanded into the cosmetics industry.

“I’m not afraid to be vulnerable,” Soare told the Forum. “If I don’t know something, I’ll be the first to admit it, because that is how I will learn.”

The 2022 Forum also included a storytelling event where Greenberg Traurig attorneys read true, anonymous stories about obstacles women face in the workplace and how they achieve success. The day also featured panel discussions on leadership and mentoring, communications strategies for a cross-generational workplace, and tips for weaving social impact into business.

“It’s so important for businesswomen – both lawyers and non-lawyers – to meet with each other and benefit from a shared learning experience,” said Greenberg Traurig Shareholders Martha A. Sabol and Susan L. Heller, co-chairs of the Women’s Initiative. “We are pleased that this dynamic and inspiring event is back in person.”

In an American-Indian honoring ceremony, Greenberg Traurig Shareholder Jennifer H. Weddle presented U.S. District Court Judge Christine Arguello the Diana P. Scott Integrity in Action Award for her work providing guidance to college students from diverse backgrounds interested in legal careers. Arguello founded Law School…Yes We Can, a pipeline mentoring program that pairs high-achieving Colorado students with lawyers who guide them through the law school application process. The award is dedicated to the memory of Greenberg Traurig Shareholder Diana P. Scott, an early leader of the firm’s Women’s Initiative.

The 2023 Greenberg Traurig Women’s Business Forum will take place in Miami.
