NEW YORK – May 10, 2022 -- Global law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Officer Nikki Lewis Simon and Shareholder Mian R. Wang will present at the 2022 Driving Diversity in Law & Leadership: New York Summit May 12 in New York City. The summit, part of CenterForce’s Diversity in Law Series, explores the effects of the post-pandemic world’s “new normal” on the career paths of diverse individuals in the legal and corporate industries.
Simon will present on the panel titled “Leading Through Uncertainty: Prioritizing DEI Through Times of Transition.” The session will explore new ways of adapting to a post-pandemic environment, including prioritizing DEI initiatives in a hybrid workplace.
Wang’s panel, “Mentorship Matters but Sponsorship Moves the Needle,” will discuss differentiating sponsors from mentors and other influencers. The conversation will also address sponsorship and its impact on DEI and how to identify and cultivate effective sponsors.

Simon, a commercial litigator with more than two decades of experience, primarily serves as the firm’s chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion officer. In this capacity, Simon designs and guides strategic initiatives and programs to deepen firmwide diversity and inclusion efforts that further enrich client engagements and community investments. Her role is indicative of, and integral to, Greenberg Traurig’s core values of collaboration and inclusion – principles that inform the firm’s operations and legal business in meaningful, positive ways. Before assuming primary responsibilities on the business side of the firm, Simon has represented her cross-industry clients’ business objectives by protecting their capital – human, intellectual, and financial – against claims of wrongdoing in complex commercial and class action litigation. Those matters have spanned the panoply of issues and claims businesses often face, from discrimination to wrongful death, defamation to fraud and misrepresentation, professional negligence and malpractice to breach of fiduciary duty and securities law violations.
Wang focuses her practice on high-stakes business litigation. She represents public and private companies, financial institutions, directors, officers, and individuals before state and federal courts in complex commercial litigation and bankruptcy litigation. She has deep experience handling matters related to breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duties, preference claims, UCC secured transactions, negligence, and fraudulent transfers. In addition, Wang also has experience representing financial institutions in litigation involving claims brought under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and Massachusetts unfair and deceptive trade practices. Her practice covers multiple disciplines and industries, including education, health care, event management, startup firms, financial institutions, and commercial finance and asset management firms. Before joining the firm, Wang served as a law clerk for the Honorable Alvin W. Thompson in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. She also worked in Delaware as a business litigator in a national firm where she represented clients on both state and federal matters.
